Our region’s latest sewing expo was in town. Yes, it was short on garment/fashion booths and yes, everything was over priced. But, I still managed to find things I had to have including 3 rolls of Swedish tracing paper. Thanks to Jane for directing me to it at the last minute. Got to talk to a lot of awesome sewing ladies and met some new people who love garment sewing and fashion. One group that was new to me was the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals. They have some amazing classes and meetings for the pros and not so professional as well. Had a great time, don’t know how I couldn’t. Here’s a few pics of the day.
Our first stop was at the Wine Bar. What? There was a lady selling wine slushies. Get us all liquored up and then set us loose.
A few items I purchased.
- Super sharp pattern tracer wheel.
- Assortment of marking pens and chalk. So excited for the red and black. All from Marathon Thread co.
Jane was a model for Silhoette Patterns Fashion Show. For more information on their patterns click here.

That fabric! What an excellent find. Who makes it?
Alexander Henry. I got it from here: http://shop.fiberartfabric.com/. They have an online store and then travel around at expo’s. I’m thinking perfect material for a big tote bag I can take to expos!
Love the comic photo. And I spy something that starts with E…. lol!
Yep. For the little guy. But he had some interesting ideas for the pattern wheel.
OMG that looks like *so* much fun! That tracing wheel is drool worthy, enjoy it! Wine slushies, eh? Will remember that for my next sewing day with my friends
I usually go alone, so this year was much more fun with friends along. Next item is metal dressmaking curves!
What a treat. Cool fabric. And wine slushies! What a neat idea!
The lady has quite the queue forming.
This looks like great fun! You can’t go wrong with a super sharp tracing wheel btw, I use mine all the time.
And, boy is that sharp. Quite different from my little plastic one.
Looks like a good time!! Glad you had fun.
I saw the Wine slushy and thought of you.
Where on earth did you find that comic??
I got it at a booth called the Fiber Art store. Had to have it! Haven’t done
Anything with it yet.
